This policy explains what personal data JotResume ("we") collects, why, and the choices you have. Please have it reviewed by counsel before relying on it.
Data we collect
- Account data: your name, email address and profile photo from Google or LinkedIn when you sign in.
- Content you create: resumes, cover letters, job tracker entries and uploaded photos.
- Imported files: resumes you upload for import are processed in memory to extract text and are not stored.
- Billing data: payments are processed by Dodo Payments; we never see or store your full card details.
- Usage data: privacy-friendly analytics (Vercel Analytics) and basic logs to keep the service secure.
How we use it
To provide and improve the service, process payments, send transactional emails (such as reminders you set), prevent abuse, and comply with law. We do not sell your personal data.
AI processing
When you use AI features (import, rewriting, tailoring, cover letters), the relevant text is sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to generate a response. It is not used by us to train models.
Sharing
Only with service providers that help us run JotResume (hosting, database, email, payments, AI), under contracts that protect your data, or when required by law. Resumes you make public are visible to anyone with the link until you turn sharing off.
Your rights
You can export all your data or delete your account at any time from Settings. For other requests, contact hello@jotresume.com.
Retention
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your documents are deleted immediately and backups roll off within 30 days.
